Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal are looking forward for a busy summer transfer window and claims that players are interested in making a switch to the Emirates.

The 64-year-old manager signed a new three-year deal today, which will keep him at the North London club till 2017, and the Frenchman has now assured the fans that the Gunners will be working hard to bring in new faces to the club this summer.

“Yes (it will be a big summer). What I can promise is that we work very hard on a market that is very, very congested with many people who have a lot of money,” Wenger told the official Arsenal website,

“But we have a big advantage, players want to join us and if we find the right quality I’m sure we can strengthen the team.”

Earlier this month, Arsenal defeated Hull City 3-2 in the FA Cup final at Wembley, which ended the Gunners’ nine-year trophy drought, and Wenger believes their recent success will be a start of a new era at the Emirates.

“It’s time for another [great Arsenal team to emerge]. It’s the start of a new team and I believe [the FA Cup] victory was crucial in that belief.”

“We have shown signs the whole season that we can be a great side and now it’s [important] of course to have another successful season.”

Wenger stressed the importance of being active in the next two months if Arsenal are to build on their FA Cup success.

“We know we have to… have a successful June and July, that’s where you strengthen the team,” Wenger added.

“It’s very important that we are good now in the next two months until the end of August, that we can give to the team some more quality and go into next season with the belief we got from [the FA Cup] win.”
