You have got to feel for Joel Campbell as an Arsenal player. The Costa Rican completed his move to the Gunners as a teenager in 2011 but spent last three seasons out on load to several clubs as he couldn’t get a work permit. Campbell featured for FC Lorient, Real Betis and dazzled last season at Olympiacos scoring 8 goals in 32 appearances. The youngster had a terrific World Cup and was tipped to make an impression this season at Arsenal.

However, things have gone downhill for him ever since. With Danny Welbeck arriving on transfer deadline day and Alexis Sanchez scoring goals at will, Campbell has fallen down the pecking order even with Olivier Giroud injured. Moreover Theo Walcott’s return also means that he would in no way get a chance to play for the Emirates outfit, let alone regularly. Thus the recent developments surely points a to a move away from the club.

Reports this morning from Italian Media Outlet Tuttosport claim that Inter Milan will make a move for the 22 year old in the upcoming January transfer window. The Nerazzurri however have decided that they ask for a loan deal till the end of the season with an option to buy. Such a move would suit both parties, the club who can finally get rid of his wages and the player himself can get regular game time rather than warming the sidelines.

We had earlier reported that AC Milan were also interested in Campbell in the summer while Portuguese side Benfica were also looking to seek a loan deal. All such reports hint towards an exit from North London, but where would the player’s next destination be? Surely time will give an apt answer.
