SanchezArsenal are growing confident they can beat Liverpool in signing Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez.

The Catalan club are keen on signing the Reds’ superstar Luis Suarez this summer and the Merseyside club wanted the Chilean international as a part of the swap deal. The 25-year-old had an impressive season with Barcelona, while enjoying a great run in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, before being knocked out by host nation Brazil.

Sanchez is not interested in making a switch to Anfield as he has set his heart in shifting to London. The Telegraph reports Arsenal have already agreed a deal in principle with the forward before his potential transfer to the Emirates in the summer transfer window.

The Chilean forward’s Liverpool rejection could dampen Barcelona’s desire to bring Suarez to Camp Nou. Despite Sanchez’s representative holding talks with Liverpool chiefs, he is unlikely to make a switch to Anfield.

Barcelona have already confirmed they have received bids for Sanchez and the La Liga giants have not done anything which suggests their forward will be at Camp Nou next season.

“Regarding the future of Alexis Sanchez, there have been offers for the player. But I do not know how it will all end – we are looking for a solution which will be best for everyone,” Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta said.

With latest reports, it looks like Arsenal have taken a massive lead in signing Sanchez, which could be a major blow for Liverpool. The Reds are set to lose grip on holding Suarez and the situation could see Brendan Rodgers turn their attention in focusing on other transfer targets in the ongoing transfer window.
