Could it really happen? While Arsene Wenger still retains the faith of majority, but there is also a growing resentment among the fans that want him to be sacked.
The Frenchman, who has been the epitome of what Arsenal is today, is in danger of losing his job, apparently, with reports suggesting club legend Thierry Henry to take over at the Emirates hot-seat.
Wenger’s job has come under scrutiny after Arsenal suffered a shock 3-1 defeat at home against Monaco in the Champions League, which leaves their European hopes hanging by threads ahead of the second leg.
Although Arsenal could likely finish in top four, but failing to finish the season empty handed could ultimately lead to his demise.
Reports from Daily Mail suggest that Josh Kroenke, the son of majority share holder Stan Kroenke, has taken more responsibility at the club and he would likey to replace Wenger next season.
Wenger has two more years left on his contract but the Mail understands that Henry is in the line to become the next Arsenal manager.
Henry, the leading top scorer at the club, and part of the invincible side, admitted recently that managing Arsenal would be a dream for him.
Arsenal sitting fourth in the Premier League face Everton at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
arsenal a still in a pole position to overturn the wensdays result at monaco i av a strong belief” go arsenal go”
wenger is just gambling with arsenal,i dont need as my coach i need a mean serious coach, that need a trophy…like henry,he can do that job……..up arsenal forever
Arsene wenger is old to manage arsenal fc by now,i think he has done enough for the club.so he should resign not sack,so that Henry could replace him.
To replace him with Henry of all people! Arsenal deserves better than than.a man of Guardiol status will be aperfect fit otherwise succesion if not well managed can lead to disaster
Henry is not arsenal coach solution because arsenal is not just a team that inexperience coach will just takeover like that.
Wenger needs to go. Outdated, no plan b, no plan A anymore. Why walcott dont start is worrying, players always injured, training issues.
Basically wenger got us where we were, 10 years ago, but since then we have gone backwards.
Also the grammer in this blog is dreadful.
Arsenal are bigger than wenger, and that is the problem, wenger has become bigger than arsenal.
#wengerout
No chance of Wenger being sacked.
There is a chance this will be his last contract but sacked, absolutely no chance. How could Arsenal every get beyond the stigma of sacking the guy who revolutionalised football in the UK and Arsenal? A guy who has consistently had Arsenal playing in the Champions League every year despite having to manage with bare-bones resources and these resources only being available after selling top players?
He has performed miracles at the club and consistently, he has the respect of every manager around the World, most players around the World and rival fans around the World.
All these people would be disgusted with Arsenal for decades and it’s a stigma the club will not bring on themselves for the sake of winding down Arsene Wenger’s current contract.
I would like to see him hand over the club in a healthy state to another manager of his choosing and importantly, when he is ready. I am missing him before he leaves and my Grandsons who are all Junior Gunners will know what a great service Arsene Wenger gave Arsenal as they get older.
Thierry Henry would never take over as Manager on the back of Arsene Wenger being sacked.
I like to think the boardroom would challenge any move of Kroenke to dismiss Arsene Wenger. Though there are a number of fans who want Arsene Wenger out, they are outnumbered by the fans who don’t and the backlash from these fans will be very severe for the club. Whichever manager follows Arsene Wenger, they have zero chance of filling his shoes and doing a better job …. and they will know it.
Arsene has lost it and should be sacked coz he doesn’t seem to be the type of man who knows when to call it quits. Playing in the Champions League every season and making no headway is no consolation for any fair-minded person. Resources are awash at Arsenal but Wenger’s tactics are poor and he has become arrogant. One cannot understand why Rosicky never gets enough game time despite good performances whenever he plays. The same could be said about Podolski who had to leave. Look at how French players enjoy his protection, the likes of misfiring Giroud, confused Flamini, immature Sanogo, and even Silvestre at his worst got a starting position under Wenger. Now we have to hope that inexperienced Henry can turn the tide for us, God forbid. We have had too much of the French flavor guys. My preferred replacement for Wenger would be someone in the mold of Tony Pulis, Ronald Koeman, Diego Simone, or Di Mateo. If it has to be an Arsenal legend, lets consider Patrick Vieira (am aware he’s French but has character) or Martin Keon
In fact let me add that Arsene Wenger knows how to protect his job coz he remembers how to win only when he’s under pressure and that he does to secure his job by pleasing ‘easy to fool’ stakeholders (fans included). Remember the 3-0 win against AC Milan after we had already been clobbered 4-0 in the first leg, the 2-0 away win to Bayern having already lost 3-1 at hone and the 1-0 away win at Borrusia which got us into the last 16. honestly what kind of rescults are these and what do they point to in terms of the man’s seriousness
This is not the time for this rubbish. Whoever is suggesting this nonsense should go get his head examinef. Do you wanna end like Man United or worse still go to Voca cola league?
Its either he goes or we remain where we are and wait for things to get worse. he will go eventually and its better be now than later
