jordy-clasieManchester United’s hope of signing Feyenoord star Jordy Clasie has suffered a blow after the midfielder’s agent admitted the player will not leave the Dutch club in the summer transfer window.

After the appointment of Louis van Gaal as United’s manager for the next season, several Dutch players have been linked with a move to Old Trafford. The 22-year-old is currently with the Holland squad for the summer World Cup in Brazil.

His form with Feyenoord has attracted interest from the Red Devils, while Serie A outfit Fiorentina were also believed to be interested in signing the midfielder.

However, Clasie’s agent Wessel Weezenberg revealed his client has not been approached by any club. The player’s representative claims the Ducthamn remains fully focused on the national side’s World Cup campaign and will decide his future after the summer event in Brazil.

“There has been no contact recently with the Viola or with the Red Devils or with other clubs,” Weezenberg told Calciomercato.

“[Clasie] is focused exclusively on the national team. The opportunity to train daily with a great coach like Van Gaal is very important for him. Jordy’s future will probably be decided after the World Cup,” he added.

With Weezenberg’s latest comments, he joins the list of players like Bayer Munich’s Toni Kroos, Arjen Robben d Thomas Muller, who have rejected the recent reports linking them with a move to United.
