Didier Drogba’s agent has confirmed that the former Chelsea striker has received an offer from the Premier League champions.

New manager Guus Hiddink wants the 37 year old Montreal Impact striker to be a part of his backroom staff and Drogba has been asked to return to Stamford Bridge.

According to the London Evening Standard, the player’s agent Thierno Seydi has confirmed Chelsea’s offer.

The report also states that the MLS outfit are keen to hold on to their prized asset for next season. They will have to approve his departure before the Ivorian can accept a contract offer from Chelsea.

It is understood that Chelsea are trying to agree a compensation package with Montreal. The MLS season restarts in March 2016 and Chelsea will have plenty of time to agree a compensation.

Didier Drogba has won almost every trophy with the Blues during his two spells at the London club and is expected to have a calming influence in and around the dressing room.

It will be interesting to see if Guus Hiddink manages to turn around Chelsea’s poor league form and how much of an impact Drogba can have as a coach.
